The Pawcatuck Valley Coin Club is an organization founded in 1962 to promote numismatics in the Eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island area and throughout Connecticut. Members meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 P.M. at the Stonington Arms Recreation Room located at Route 1, 133 S. Broad St. Pawcatuck, CT. The Juniors Roundtable begins at 6:30 PM, and the Bourse opens at 6:45 PM. The meeting begins at 7:15PM.
The goal of the Pawcatuck Valley Coin Club is to provide its members with a enjoyable environment in which they can enjoy sharing our hobby with other like-minded enthusiasts. We stress numismatic education and related topics so our members can take share, teach and learn about numismatics.
We encourage members every month to exhibit coins and currency to display with other members at our monthly meetings.
Dennis Fortier #775 sent along exciting news! I just learned I will be honored with an award (the Kam Ahwash Literary award) from the Liberty Seated Collectors Club. My article "Overrated/Underrated Liberty Seated Coinage Part I was voted the best article for 2015 by the membership. Part II came in third place. This is a very prestigious award as many of the winners are well known and admired numismatists. It is an honor to be in their company. The LSCC has over 600 members from all over the country and abroad.
